EU competition chief Margrethe Vestager emphasized on November 14 that by linking Facebook to Marketplace, Meta “imposes unfair commercial conditions” on other providers.
“The parent company Facebook is doing this to profit from the Marketplace service, bringing benefits that others cannot follow,” Ms. Vestager said.
The decision comes after the EU opened an antitrust investigation against Meta in 2019.
